There’s an old saying in Oklahoma for a kid with a big appetite. In fact, my Grandpa directed this saying at my boys numerous times. While my boys were finishing up their third plate of biscuits and sausage gravy (or whatever they were eating), Grandpa would say “That boy’s got a holla leg”.
I never thought I would be able to accuse Tater of having a “hollow leg”, but he proved today that he does.
Penny, Cristin, Tater, and I went to Olive Garden today.
Before we get to the food pictures, let me give you some back story.
My sister said she made a gigantic pan of lasagna yesterday. She said Tater ate two plates of lasagna last night and two plates this morning. This is big news. Tater usually eats like a bird. Eating means he has to sit down and be still for at least 5 minutes, so most of the time eating doesn’t appeal to him. Sometime during the last two days, Tater has decided that eating is a good thing. A very good thing.
Obviously Tater is in the middle of a growth spurt. Here is a list of the food that I know he has eaten in two days.
4 plates of lasagna.
2 small plates of salad with extra olives and croutons. (He was all about the olives)
3 chicken strips.
3 Olive Garden breadsticks with Alfredo dipping sauce.
Several bites of pasta.
Fresh steamed broccoli.
2 desserts cups from Olive Garden.
And that’s just the stuff that I know about.
I think it’s safe to say that Tater has found his appetite.
He was watching Netflix on his mom’s phone while we waited for our entrees. He chowed on salad. Like dang.
He wanted all the olives.
This was Penny’s food.
The famous Olive Garden breadsticks. We ate this many….times 3.
Cristin’s Portobello Ravioli meal. I don’t remember the exact name, but I will order this the next time I go. It was so good. It has a smoked mozzarella sauce.
My meal. It had gorgonzola cheese in the sauce. It was good, but Cristin’s entrée was better.
Two of my favorite people in the whole world.
Tater showing off his belly.
The moment the waiter put these dessert cups on the table, Tater grabbed the chocolate one and ate it in 3 bites. Then he grabbed the lemon one on the left and did the same thing. I don’t think he shared one bite with his mother.
It was a fun day. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Make sure to watch the video below.
